Either way your line has a blockage.If your drain also accepts any greases or soap you eventually get a buildup.Most newer homes have a cleanout evrey few feet in the drain line to accept a flexible rod or sewer snake.If a good friend has one ask him or her to help you out otherwise u have to get a plummer which could cost you.

If you are on a septic tank, it could be that it is full and needs pumped. If on sewer, your pipes could be blocked. Call a plumber and be sure to wear rubber gloves when cleaning up any messes. You are handling raw sewage.

Back up indicates a blockage in the line, call a plumber if city sewage, call a sump truck if septic system, good luck, or if you or a neighbor have a roto rutor, or hand snake try to unplug yourself and save the money.
