Do you have flexible duct work in your home? It sounds like you have a smell of &quot;Septic Stink&quot; from only one vent? Check that vent. I bet your duct work going to that vent is now or has at some point been soaked with water and that nasty water is what your smelling. It could be moldy or rotting.
