How do you move roughed-in plumbing pipes?

plumbing

How do you move roughed-in plumbing pipes (they are in the basement cement floor)? Toilet drain needs to be moved about 7 inches, and the shower drain needs to be moved about 5 ft. Any tips that will make this a bit easier than it seems (other than hiring somebody to do it?!)”

The only way is to break up the floor, move and re-pitch them.

Make sure the vents are within the correct distance to the new spots

Mark c is correct… there is no easy way to correct that kind of error. To do the job and have it look professional you have to cut the cement, break it out,and redo where it should be located.. that’s why many people raise the floor of the bath 5 inches..if there is enough headroom.

This is definitely a job for a professional. The last thing in the world you’d want to do is to do all of this work yourself (busting up concrete, moving pipes, and redoing concrete) only to find out down the road is was done incorrectly or you have leaks. Call a plumber and get it done right the first time and have that peace of mind.
