Now that you have poured these chemicals down the drain, it may cost more than the price quoted on the phone. These type caustic chemicals can damage the equipment used by the plumber. With a pair of rubber gloves and safety glasses on, remove the trap and see if that is where the clog is. Try not to breathe these fumes. I have permanent nail damage on one hand from a job where the lady "forgot" to tell me used these chemicals.

Ok, I have never seen a plumber under $80 per hour, but maybe they are out there...

Oh, I am so sorry, sounds like you have real trouble there. Maybe a root or something really clogging things up. You can get a snake for under $30 or so, but I think Warranty is right, not for use on a kitchen sink. I would get on the phone, call a bunch of them to see, not just who is cheapest, but also who sounds like a good, honest person. Maybe you have one in your church contacts, or someone could recommend someone reputable.

Good Luck!!

Plumbers cost anywhere from $75-$150 hr. I wouldn't use any chemicals for pipes cause the can eat up the pipe....The first thing I would do, is take the p-trap off (that's the U part of the pipe under the sink) and check it cause that's the first place it gets clogged at....If that's not it, then go to your nearest equipment rental and rent a snake. Tell them what you are doing and they will give you the right type of snake. Then you snake out the pipe through the wall (not the drain itself cause too many bends) that should take care of the problem.....If that doesn't work then go through the vent pipe on top of the roof....That's what a plumber going to do anyway.....
What ever you do, do not pour grease down the drain.....it can be a nightmare for you.......

WOMAN......!!!!! Just kidding.....could not resist......

You gave the only two people that know what they are talking about thumbs down.......Sulphuric acid plus metal pipes equals redoing the whole drain! And strong base, while it does eat biological material faster than acid, will turn any grease into soap or wax: look up saponification. If you'ved ever tried to get a drop of wax out of a tablecloth, it's a lot worse than grease.

Buying a snake will cost more than the plumber I believe. Plus - Snakes are designed for specific plumbing AND you need to know what you are doing with it. I'm pretty sure you can't run a snake down a kitchen sink. Plumbers are generally $65.00 an hour. Sometimes there is a two hour minimum. Just depends. Call around to a few places and ask them, before you decide on which one to use.

It really depends on the plumber, big name companies and people that can get to you immediately tend to charge a bit more than some of the lesser known places. Have you tried a snake?? (not the animal of course, the long metal thingy) there could be a clog that the drain cleaners you are using aren't able to break down well enough to fix the issue. I think you can get a snake at most hardware type stores.
